Did you know that California recently adopted Computer Science (CS) Standards? Developed by educators, the standards are designed to help students move from passive users of technology to creators and innovators who interact with computers. What better way to jump in than by getting our students coding! Coding allows kids to be creative and builds confidence by helping them visualize abstract concepts.

In this session, we'll begin by learning more about the new CS Standards. Participants will spend time coding through a variety of hands-on activities including Beebots, Cubettos, Ozbots, and Scratch. We'll explore ways to integrate coding across the curriculum as well as different resources to consider, including picture books and unplugged activities. New to coding, or just looking for ideas to empower your students - come get your code on! *Please bring a device (ipad or laptop) and be ready to play!
